Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the next part of the Final Fantasy 7 reboot trilogy. Players leave Midgar for new places. It continues after 2020’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Your favourite characters from Remake are back in Rebirth. You’ll also meet new faces. Three new members join the team: Yuffie, Red XIII, and Cait Sith. Cait Sith joins the battle for the first time.
Cid and Vincent will also show up. But they’ll become playable only in the next game. You’ll play a brief role as Zack and Sephiroth. They were not playable in the 1997 original. They now get special roles in the new Final Fantasy VII storyline.

Cloud
The main character Cloud is back in Final Fantasy VII’s reboot sequel. He continues to use his unique Buster Sword. As usual, he seems a bit moody. He is slowly figuring out his mysterious past.
Tifa
Cloud’s old best friend, Tifa, returns in this sequel. She explores her difficult past and uses her martial arts skills to defeat enemies.
Aerith
Aerith, a favorite game character, returns in this sequel. She is a friendly and warm mage. She is moving towards a big event in the second part of the story.
Barret
Barret, the favorite tough guy who often swears, is back. He has plenty of bullets to fire from his gun arm. But he also deals with some tough memories in this sequel.
Red XIII
In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Red XIII becomes an playable character after a brief appearance in Remake. He shows off his skills and explores his background during this story part.
Yuffie
The playful and energetic Yuffie is now a key player in Rebirth. Although she was in Remake’s Intergrade DLC, she shows here that she’s not just a thief, but also an important character.
Cait Sith
Cait Sith, a new character in Rebirth, hasn’t been in combat in the rebooted trilogy. Long-time fans might question his motives, but this robotic cat on a moogle adds a fun and cartoonish twist to all playable characters and fights.
Zack
Even though Zack isn’t part of the main group, he gets his own part in Rebirth. This part explores his role in the new timeline. Fans of Final Fantasy VII will get a new view of one of the most interesting characters in the series.
Sephiroth
Sephiroth, one of the most unforgettable bad guys in games, is a character you can control with Cloud in flashbacks. These scenes show more about Sephiroth’s difficult past. Players also get to fight with his amazing sword, Masamune.
